Mental Health Pros’ Tools for Measuring Outcomes in Therapy |

|
In today’s tough economic climate, clients and health-care insurers want to see proof that the psychotherapy or psychiatric help you provide is actually making a difference. Mental Health Pros give you up-to-the-minute evidence of your services’ effectiveness using the same software as the U.S. Navy to measure positive outcomes in psychotherapy and psychiatric treatment. Clients spend a minute at the beginning of each session rating their level of psychological distress. At the end of the session, they take another minute to rate the strength of the therapeutic alliance. You and your client can then explore their progress and whether or not their therapy and/or psychiatric treatment is on track so that you as the mental health professional can prevent and/or repair any potential ruptures in the alliance. This process (as confirmed by at least seven independent research studies) doubles and, in many cases, triples the likelihood of achieving a positive outcome. It also allows larger practices to identify highly effective mental health professionals who can then be seconded to coach less effective therapists or counsellors, helping to raise the overall quality of the practice’s therapy and/or treatments. Last but not least, it makes data on outcomes readily available, providing payors with objective proof of the effectiveness and importance of your services. |
